Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 30th July I will be joining a Team of 49-strong BAE Systems cyclists to ride the Prudential Ride London 100 to raise money for The Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC).

What makes this more special is that I will be the only one of 30,000 cyclists riding the 100 mile distance on an ElliptiGO stand up cycle.

Starting at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, we will follow a 100-mile route through the capital and into Surrey's stunning countryside. With leg-testing climbs and a route made famous by the world's best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics, it's a truly spectacular event but a serious challenge!

We would be grateful if you would consider making a donation to the DNRC. Your donation will bring the DNRC one step closer to building what will be one of the world’s best clinical rehabilitation centres for our armed forces and the nation. The DNRC will replace Headley Court as the place where servicemen and women who have been injured in the line of duty can be helped to regain their strength, mobility and confidence such that they can live independent lives. In due course the site will be developed to help civilians as well.

Although the running of this facility will be funded by the Ministry of Defence once it has opened next year, the capital costs of the build - £300 million - are being funded entirely by charitable donations. To date the charity has raised in excess of £250 million and we would be grateful if you would consider making a donation, however big or small, to help them get closer to achieving their goal.

Team Sky are attending and will be cycling the UCI World tour event on the same day!
