Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who have already heard the ridiculous rumours about me going well outside my comfort zone to raise money for Claire House Children's Hospice this year, I can now confirm that it's absolutely true - I will be taking part in Claire House does Strictly 2016!
Most of you will already be well aware that I have two left feet and limited coordination other than marching in a straight line as rigidly as physically possible (some years ago, I may add)! Well apparently, all of that is about to change and on the 26th March, I will be one of a team of dancers who will entertain the masses at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool whilst raising money for Claire House Children's hospice.
So you may wonder why I would do this? Well it's quite simple really, Claire House is an amazing charity that does the most difficult job that I can think of by providing respite and end of life care for children. Quite frankly, it's unimaginable for any parent to go through this but Claire House somehow finds the strength and courage to help families during this most awful of times and they continue to do this day after day after day with the same levels of professionalism, sympathy and sensitivity.
Claire House provide a tremendous service but actually receives very little funding from the government and relies on our donations to ensure that it continues to provide the same levels of care for everyone who is unfortunate enough to need to use them. People like my nephew, Elliott Lamb who unfortunately died before he had chance to visit Claire House where he would've experienced it's calming environment, and responded to its amazing light rooms, adapted pools and bespoke facilities with his parents.
My fundraising will be made in Elliott's memory this year.
