On Wednesday 12th October 2011 myself & Leanne received the greatest news of our lives......Leanne was 5 weeks pregnant. 

On Wednesday 18th April 2012 it all went tragically wrong. After feeling some unusual stomach pains Leanne was eventually taken into hospital to be checked. Sitting on the maternity ward the midwife checked for a heartbeat but there was nothing but silence. The doctor then turned to us & confirmed our worst fears, Amelia had died. 

We had spent 32 weeks looking forward to welcoming a healthy baby in to the world, instead on Thursday 19th April Leanne gave birth to our beautiful sleeping angel 'Amelia Rose Ladley'. 

The pain & emotions we went through at the time were unbelivable. Thanks to the kind work of '4Louis' we were given the chance to cherish what little memories we had in the form of a keepsake box. We were also provided with information & support and the chance to talk to other parents that had gone through still births or neo natal deaths.

Stillbirth & neonatal deaths effect around 17 woman a day in the UK. The aim of '4Louis' is to make this experience as painless as possible and in providing keepsake boxes (free of charge) & offering support to over 30 hospitals across the UK, this goes a long way to achiving that. 

Whatever money I can raise from doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge will help '4Louis' to continue doing their excellent work & hopefully provide some comfort to grieving parents in such hard times.
