Story

Hi guys,

From June 8th - June 11th 2010, I will be attempting to scale the 5 tallest peaks of each of the 5 countries in the British Isles - all within 48 hours!

Starting in England and ending up in the Republic of Ireland, I will be trying to climb the following 5 peaks:
Scotland - Ben Nevis (1344m, 4406ft.)
Wales - Snowdon (1085m, 3560ft.)
Republic Of Ireland - Carrauntoohil (1038m, 3406ft.)
England - Scafell Pike (978m, 3209 ft.)
Northern Ireland - Slieve Donard (849m, 2786ft.)

All of this is in aid of Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team (TWSMRT). This is a team that provides a search and rescue service in County Durham 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. TWSMRT has been saving lives for 40 years. More info at http://www.twsmrt.org.uk/.

I am doing this challenge with many other students attending Durham University through the Durham University Charity Kommittee (DUCK, and yes - with a K!). DUCK is a student-run charity committee that last year raised £500,000 for all charities that operate on a local scale, right up to reknowned international charities.

So please, donate money (contributions of ALL sizes are welcome) to my page to help me reach my target of £150. Thanks for reading my page.
