Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
On March 28th 2010 I will be taking part in my first ever organised running race, the Wilmslow Half Marathon, on behalf of the Bolton Hospice.
Four years ago my father-in-law, Frank Johnson, died from lung cancer at the age of 75. Much of his final week was spent in the Bolton Hospice and the care and support he received there was truly exceptional. The quality of the staff and their dedication to their work enabled Frank to die with dignity and helped his family to come to terms with their loss over the following weeks.
March 28th, the day of the race, would have been Frank's 80th birthday and in his memory I am trying to raise as much money as I can since Bolton Hospice relies very heavily on public donations to keep going.
Before starting my training for the race the farthest I had ever run in my life without feeling sick was about 2 miles, so if nothing else your money buys you the opportunity to laugh at me as I hurt and humiliate mysef in public.
Thanks in advance for your support.
