Story

So, I've left it late this year, but better late than never. I missed the application for places as I was in Australia, performing Charlie and Lola's Best Bestest Play, at the Sydney Opera House, and by the time morning reached me over there, all the places had gone. I thought that was that, until I was speaking to the lovely Liz Wright about her mother's dementia, ever such a sad story, whilst performing the same production in Whitley Bay a few weeks ago, and learned that the charity pre-pays for some places and it's possible to buy them directly. So, the deal is I pay the entry fee and have to raise £175 to make it worth their while, so without further ado, let's raise some money to help people suffering from dementia, because it an illness we cannot ignore. It has a devastating impact on the people who develop it, and the families who care for them. I won't bore you with statistics, other than its cost to the UK economy, a massive £17 billion a year, which is increasing rapidly. The term 'dementia' is used to describe  a syndrome in which there is progressive decline in function, including decline in memory, reasoning, communication skills and the ability to carry out daily activities, like brushing your teeth or eating!

Last year we raised over £700 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma, in honour of my beloved late uncle Ralph, I ran dressed as Shakespeare, one week after having chicken pops, in 01 hr 01 min 02 secs, but I stopped to have a wee! This year I’ll just wear the t-shirt, train for...well I've got two weeks haven't I, and relieve myself before I start running, all to beat the hour mark. Please donate a few quid and help raise the required £175.
