We provide emotional support to parents to help them cope following a diagnosis

Story

At a colossal 5,895m, Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes to ever break through the Earth’s crust. In September 2024, the Kelly's Heroes team will take on the challenge to clamber above the sea of clouds to its summit. This is one of the toughest but most exhilarating adventures the team will ever embark on.

I will be braving this challenge with them to support with their fantastic work to improve support around mental health. Money that I raise for this challenge will be split between Kelly’s Heroes and Harry’s Pals.

Harry’s  Pals is a charity very close to my heart as it supports families like mine who have received a diagnosis that their child is severely ill or disabled.

The charity set up by my wife after our experiences when our son Harry was born provides emotional support to mums and dads across the country, including free counselling and therapy sessions and also short breaks away. Families are referred to the charity through hospices, hospitals and other charities such as Together for Short Lives.

We Mind & Kelly Matters was formed in 2019 after the devastating loss of Kelly Hewitt who was taken from us way too young following her struggles with Mental Health. Kelly's Mum, Dad and Sister set the charity up to help other struggling with their mental health and for those who have been bereaved by suicide.Unless you are affected or know someone struggling with Mental Health it’s difficult to understand. There is often still a stigma associated with it, leaving many to suffer in silence, our aim is to raise awareness and help to prevent suicide.

Please support me and donate whatever you can afford, this is going to be one hell of a challenge but know the difference these two charities make will help me when the going gets tough.

Thank you
