Story
Hi, 40 years ago in my home town of Blackpool I ran in its first ever 10k fun run. My running gear on the day was a t-shirt, England football shorts, and a pair of Adidas kick trainers. My time in 1983 was 44mins 21seconds and I finished 663rd! Technology was not the greatest then, and I remember it taking a couple of minutes to get past the start line. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it).
This year, on May 14th, I'm going back to do it again, with new running gear, trainers, smart watch, and a chip to track my time once I cross the line - Justice! Whilst it would be great to beat that time, age and reality means I will look to finish in under an hour. My running number on the day will be 663.
My aim is to raise funds as I did then, for Trinity Hospice in Blackpool. It would be great if you would sponsor me and in doing so support a great charity that supports people and their families. Every and any amount counts so give what you can if you can. Thank you.
Trinity Hospice is more than just a building, hospice care reaches into homes across the Fylde Coast. Youll also find our team at the hospital and working with residential and care homes. We care, we really do; its at the centre of everything. To us, every patient is an individual, with choices around what sort of care they would like, and where they would like to receive it.We are about living life to the full and living well to the very end.
