Great North Run 2022 · 11 September 2022 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page.

I'm not a runner, and i rarely do much for charity if I'm being honest, so I wont be asking for any support soon, you will be pleased to know. lol

The Great North Run (Half Marathon) is a massive challenge for a slightly overweight, nearly 50 year old, but I've been in training for the past few months.  My target it to complete the course in one piece. Well I do have a target time, but ill keep that to myself.

Over a year ago, i lost my dear mum to Covid.

What we didn't know at the time was my Mum had a underlying heart condition. Therefore in memory of her,  I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives.

It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.

My target is £500, and if i don't hit it , no worries, I'll top the balance  up myself.

Thanks, wish me luck, ill need it !

P.S The wife ( Sarah ) is running with me, and the charity she is supporting is Chesterfield Hospice.
