Dear All,

Whilst I fully appreciate that we have all had our fill of fundraising requests in the past year, I would like you to consider one last hurrah at navigating the ever so simple "Just Giving" method!!

A little under a year ago, my much loved Mother and human dynamo, Marion, passed away as a result of Bowel Cancer, amongst others! She, 3 months prior to passing away had been on holiday in Vietnam, full of the joys of spring. Travel was her great passion. from which she got great joy. She was 2 weeks short of her 74th Birthday.

Her last day at work, as a nurse in the local surgery, was the day the she was diagnosed. 56 years nursing not a bad career helping others!! She had no desire to retire. What a lady!

She absolutely adored her two grandchildren and it is one of life's regrets that she did not get to spend more time with them, when she did see them they could do no "wrong", and I can assure they certainly do "wrong" with style!!!!!

I promised my Mother before she passed away that I would run the Bermuda Half -Marathon in her honour! Whilst it will be an honour for me to do this for the 2nd time, I can honestly say that it will be 2 and out. I have been hard training to try and get used to the heat and humidty. No one will be more pleased when the race is over (Race used in the loosest possible sense)

I urge you to dig deep in order that we can all do our little bit in beating this evil cancer. I have,in no way, in this short space captured what an amazing lady she was, but take it from me she was.

PS Dad has managed to move onto cooking his own boiled eggs and is an expert in ready cooked meals now! He is also doing amazingly well, and that should not be forgotten.
