My brother who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, is a frequent visitor of Helen & Douglas house. With his deteriorating condition, he goes to Helen & Douglas House for respite away from home. His respite allows support for myself and my family around his disability. The siblings group was set up to support and help, the siblings of ill children/ young adults who visit the hospice. They help by counselling and putting on fun activities within a group. As a member of the group I can credit the great support the siblings group has given me .The group is going to do a 45km canoe challenge, which will raise money for Helen & Douglas House therefore, allowing us to give back to the wonderful hospice.
