Story
AUGUST 18TH TO 2ND SEPTEMBER 2012
Our plan is to walk the whole 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Path in August 2012 in memory of Janine, who walked it all in 2002 for her 50th birthday and really loved it. She raised money for a children's charity that time so we, her family, thought it would be a great way to honour her by doing something similar.
Mari-Anne and Andrew plan to do it, along with Hugh who will be 13 months old by next August. Helping to carry him will be Rhodri and Alisha on vacation from Canada. Jan's father Derrick plans to drive my car with our packs from one B and B to the next so we will just be carrying daypacks and the baby!
We hope that any and all of our friends will join sections or even the complete walk in memory of Jan. Her blog of that walk shows just how much she enjoyed walking her favourite county. http://www.btinternet.com/~janine.a/
We will be raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK along the way and you can sponsor us, her family, on this page below..
The official National Trail website has lots of good information about the path which National Geographic Magazine voted the second best coastline in the world in 2011. http://nt.pcnpa.org.uk/website/sitefiles/nat_trail.asp
We have put details of the planned schedule, each day's start and end and where we will be staying on a google map which you can find here. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=207712146969878833637.0004b4fdb2c50079d24c9&msa=0&ll=52.071191,-4.77143&spn=0.002661,0.006282
Our map here has what we intend to do over the 186 miles and over 35,000 feet of ascent and descent
