On the 3rd March 2013 my beautiful little boy Elliot died suddenly.  He just went for an afternoon sleep but never woke up, he was only 2 years old.  Our lives were forever changed but we wanted Elliot to have a positive legacy and with amazing help and support we started Elliot's Footprint, a charity to make sure other families get the right help and support in the immediate aftermath of their child's death.

It has been an incredibly tough year for fundraising, with many events having to be cancelled but we still have many families who need our support.  We don't want to let them down.

So I thought I would take on the Run4All Jog on 2020 challenge and do a Half Marathon.  For me this will be a fundraising challenge with a difference though because instead of putting on a pair of running shoes I will be doing it on crutches. Not to add an extra spice to the challenge or as a gimmick but because I slipped when out walking the dog whilst on holiday in Devon and broke my ankle in 3 places.

Over the past 3 months I have progressed from three different casts to a surgical boot and crutches.  My hospital Consultant said to slowly build up my daily exercise - so I thought I'd set myself a challenge.  Between the 26th December and 6th Jan I am going to walk a total of 13.5 miles with my surgical boot and crutches to guide the way.  I will hopefully finish just in time for my second ankle operation. 

Every penny raised will go directly into funding our Family Bereavement Worker, who helps families in the immediate aftermath after their child has died.  Help me to keep this post going so we don't let families experience such an horrendous loss alone.
