Story
Hello! I’m running the London Marathon in October 2021 for my first ever attempt at any sort of running challenge. I was always told to go hard or go home, so when the opportunity arose to apply for this, I couldn’t do it by half and I definitely couldn’t turn it down
So here’s to the next 10 months of hardcore training, healthy eating and some mad fundraising ideas. That also means 10 months of me poking, spamming and asking you very nicely to press that big “Give Now” button to support me and my chosen charity MQ Mental Health, who spend millions researching how we can finally tell mental health to f*** off, along with the stigmas surrounding it.
On a more serious note, 1 in 4 people suffer with a form of mental health each year. 1 in 6 will suffer with a more common mental health problem (depression / anxiety) per week. 1 in 15 people have attempted suicide in their life time.
These figures were taken before Covid. These figures are now estimated to be a lot worse.
Covid has affected us all in many different ways, I am lucky enough to have found running to channel all of my emotions into something positive. So, I’m running this marathon for all of my friends and family that have, or continue to suffer with mental health. I hope I make you all proud
