Story
As most people know I have been diagnosed with Lupus since 2007, however it has taken me a very long time to find Lupus UK.
I first went along to a support group for young people in London after my specialist nurse suggested that I may find it beneficial and this was the start of a strong and everlasting friendship.
Since then I have trained as a contact for the charity and have regular contact with everyone in the office, especially Paul who deals with the younger members, and have made firm friends with them all. I get huge amounts of support and encouragement from them all and I really don't know where I would be without them now.
The charity not only provides invaluable individual and group support for sufferers and their loved ones, but it also campaigns very hard for awareness of the little known disease, and contributes to research for improving the lives of those with it.
I could talk for hours about how amazing they are there, and how much they have changed my mentality for the better over the last couple of years, but I think if you give their website a visit and have a look for yourself you will be able to tell why. (www.lupusuk.org)
I have to thank everyone for visiting this page and deciding to donate because really, for such a small charity and little known disease, every penny is a blessing.
My skydive is taking place at Headcorn in Kent on Saturday 22nd October and I will be putting video/photographic evidence of it on my facebook, or I can send it to your email if you would like, just let me know, (amyfrances92@gmail.com)
