Story
I've done alsorts for charity...Marathons, half marathons, skydives and carboots. Most of which I have done with my mate Rich Hampson.
Sadly, as many of you know, Rich passed away on 6th February 2015. He spent the last few weeks of his life in Loros.
Until recently, whilst visiting Rich, I had no idea of the excellent care and support that patients and their families receive during the precious time they have left together.
Rich loved his sports - football, running, cycling, golf, hiking!!!!! He was the bloke who got me into running! I have since ran marathons, done ridiculously long swims and I now take on my biggest challenge ever.
The OUTLAW HALF IRONMAN
On the 31st May 2015, I will be swimming 1.2 miles, cycling 56 miles and running a half marathon 13.1 miles, all in under 8.5 hours.
What makes this a challenge is that up until August 2014, I haven't owned a bike since I was 5!!!
In 1981, I fell off my bike and smashed all of my front teeth out and ended up in hospital, this seemed to knock my confidence for the next 33 years!!!!!
I decided last year it was time I faced my fears. To add to this.... I have never done a triathlon before......never mind a half ironman!!!!!
Please, will you support my challenge and help me raise my target of £1000 for Loros....in memory of my mate Rich x I should add that I have paid for my own entry into my event, so all money raised will go to Loros x
