Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My little cousin suffers from Nephrotic Syndrome which is a form of Kidney disease. She has suffered from this disease since she was diagnosed at 16 months old. In spite of this, she never stops smiling. Even when she is in relapse, having her bloods taken, experiencing compications of this disease or having the other treatments that she needs, she still wears a smile and finds enough energy to be her cheeky self. This is what keeps our family positive during these hard times.

We want to raise awareness of this rare disease and raise money which will help give Ellen, and other children like her, the support they need to live their lives as normal as possible.

To achieve this, we will be running from Basingstoke to Southampton general hospital which is where Ellen receives most of her treatment. This will be a 35 mile run which will take place on Saturday 21st September 2013.

Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) affects approx 10,000 people in the UK, majority are children, with no known cause or cure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potentially life-threatening complications. NeST funds Bristol Children's Hospital in researching NS to find a cure.
