Story
Welcome to my JustGiving page for the London Marathon 2024!
As some of you know Scoliosis Awareness is something extremely close to my heart and is something I truly believe needs more recognition in todays society. Scoliosis is the abnormal and twisting curvature of the spine which effects around 2-3% of the worlds population.
In 2024 it will my 10th anniversary of having major spinal surgery to fit 2 titanium rods and 24 screws down the length of my spine. Before my surgery I was told there is a possibility I may never be able to walk again and to be able to sit here and officially say I am going to be running the London Marathon for Scoliosis Association UK makes me extremely proud of everything I have faced and overcome.
Living with chronic pain and looking 'normal' in everyday life has its challenges and has left me at times feeling very lost and isolated. The more support and awareness we can get out there for people living with hidden illnesses, the easier it will become for people in similar situations like myself to feel recognised in todays society.
In the last 10 years I have met some truly amazing people who have helped me on my journey of living with Scoliosis and now it is my turn to give back to the Scoliosis community and raise awareness for such an important cause.
I am so thankful to every single person who has helped me in the last 10 years to get me to where I am today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single one of you for being by my side and thank you to every single one of you who is here reading this page.
It means the absolute world to me that you helping me support such an amazing charity who has not only helped me in my recovery but is positively changing the lives of everyone living with Scoliosis today.
Thank you, thank you and thank YOU!
