We offer free support to people with cancer and their loved ones
Story
Maggie's have provided tremendous practical and emotional support for my family over the last year following my dad's diagnosis with Glioblastoma Multiforme. It has been a tough time for us all but my dad's constant strength and determination has and continues to carry us forward.
My dad himself, an athlete and rugby player in his time, founded six major city half marathons. He has also been chosen to carry the baton for the Commonwealth Games Queen's baton relay in July! Through this and his friendship with Neil Kilgour (Race Director) he has been asked to start the half marathon this Sunday and is thrilled to have been given this honour.
I decided to enter the Edinburgh half marathon to raise money for such an excellent charity and to make my dad proud. So far I have raised nearly £500 and hope to collect even more before Sunday!
