Story
As many of you are aware Bella-Rose Leach has been battling ALL Leukaemia since November. Watching this much loved little girl fight this terrifying illness with such strength and determination has left us feeling pretty inspired so a group of 7, Louise Barnes, Carly Johnson, Kelly Johnson, Claire Jeffrey, Jade Gentry, Claire Cooves and Amy Leach have decided to take on the daunting challenge of completing the Race to the stones on the 11th of July.
We will be walking Britain's oldest path, the 5,000 year old ancient ridgeway non stop for 100km (62 miles) and are hoping to raise money for a charity close to Bella's families heart, Clic Sargent, who help provide young cancer patients and their families with vital clinical, practical and emotional support when dealing with childhood cancers.
Considering the distance and varying range of fitness in the group, this really is no mean feat (even the 2 marathon runners are nervous!) however training is underway, we have swapped our usual heels and handbags for walking boots and rucksacks and we are determined to draw on Bella's strength and courage to ensure we complete the challenge and say thank you to a charity that has helped Bella's family, and with support will continue to help many others when they need it most.
