Story

Hi everyone.

Braving the shave!

To kick-start my retirement next month, my first thought was to make a positive start by doing something for charity by having my hair shaved off on 26th July, and have chosen to support the Sands charity (stillbirth and neonatal death) at Ninewells.

Sands is a charity which began 40 years ago this year and which offers a range of support services for anyone who has been affected by the loss of a baby through stillbirth or neonatal death. Bereavement support is at the core of everything they do, they also have a helpline, support groups, an online forum and message board, books and other resources. They directly fund high quality research in the UK with the prime aim of seeking answers and reducing the number of babies who sadly die. There are around 100 local Sands support groups in the UK, run by trained befrienders, and they are grateful for any support of their charity.

Thank you so much for your support.

Pictures of the event will be on my hairdresser's Facebook page @standrewschangingroom, and possibly the Citizen!

With many thanks, Amy
