We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

I'm running my first ever half marathon in just over a month for Diabetes UK and I am BRICKING it! I chose Diabetes UK as my grandad struggled with type 2 diabetes as he got older. What we didn't know until we had to know was that sometimes the development of diabetes in elderly people is a symptom of the development of pancreatic cancer. My grandad passed away a year ago. I also another close relative living with type 1 diabetes, the one where you sometimes have to inject yourself, and it's made me realise that it's more common than I thought.

Sponsoring me will help Diabetes UK to put more money into research, and maybe into resarching the links between diabetes and pancreatic cancer. What is definite is that running this half marathon is going to hurt. A lot. So cough up please!!

Thanks,

Amy
