Story
There are 4.6 million children living in poverty in the UK, a shocking and saddening statistic. The pandemic will only be making that worse, with many families struggling to provide in the way they would wish for their children.
Anything we can do to help relieve some pressure for these families is invaluable. And what better way to do it than to ensure child has a gift this Christmas. The Toy Appeal do that in a lovely way:
Each £25 donated is spent on each child's toy sack, which includes:
- a main present
- stocking fillers
- 2 books
- a teddy
- a craft item
- a sports item
- a board game
They take requests from Social workers and schools, who know the children who really need a sack.
On Tuesday 1st December, I will spend the entire working day from 8.30am - 5.30am on a spin bike, while attending all video meetings, responding to emails and taking calls.
And my 7 year old son, William, has also joined the challenge and will be riding 25 miles continuously (only stopping for a wee or a drink 0 in his words) to support the Toy Appeal - go William!
So whether you are sponsoring, joining in, or attending my meetings so you can watch the struggle, let’s pull together support the children who need it most.
Thanks
Amir (and chums)
