We help people with disabilities to go beyond expectations.
Story
Hello everyone,I have just signed up to do the Great North Run to raise money for Henshaws enabling people living with visual impairments and other disabilities to build the skills and independence they need, to get the future they want.I recently got a great new job and with it the chance to do the GNR. When I first had the offer I didn’t know whether to run for the nearest exit or faint at the prospect! However I am embracing the opportunity and I am now thoroughly excited with my challenge. Raoul (name changed for legal reasons) my personal trainer, is keeping me in check and I am embarking on the most physically demanding training I have ever had to do (which doesn’t involve my usual jog to buy a latte and muffin)!Being 5ft small, as some might say, makes it a tall order to get my legs in gear but I am stepping up a notch and WILL, by hook or by crook, make it to the finish line! Please sponsor me for such a worthwhile cause. Many thanks in advance for your support.Amelia x
