We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2012 my life was altered drastically when I was diagnosed with a grade 3 brain tumour. After 6 weeks of radiotherapy, and then 6 months of chemotherapy, I emerged relieved that I was still alive.

Living with this illness is incredibly tough: regular fatigue; anxiety; social isolation; memory issues and a statistically poor survival rate (3-5 years). The other major problem is that it is a rare form of cancer, which receives less publicity and support.

This is why The Brain Tumour Charity do such good work, funding scientific and clinical research, raising awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours, influencing policy and providing support and information to those affected.

They currently have a five-year strategy to double survival from brain tumours and halve the harm they cause to quality of life. One way I can help them is to participate in events like The Twilight Walk in Windsor.

Last year I raised over £700 for the charity by walking around Windsor and I am happy to do the same again. It would make me even happier if you could donate an amount to the cause. I know times are tough but even a small amount can make a big difference.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate — saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
