Thank you for visiting my justgiving page.
Those of you that know me well know I like a glass of wine or three! I am spending a month without alcohol to try and help raise funds towards helping a wonderful little boy named Daniel walk. I have included more details below. Please sponsor me.
I'm trying to help towards raising £55,000 for an operation to give Daniel a chance to walk. Please donate what you can to help change this wonderful boy’s life. Daniel is 5 years old & lives in Guildford, Surrey with his little brother Dexter, and his parents, Catherine & Simon (friends of mine). Daniel has spastic cerebral palsy, which means his muscles are very tight, and he can’t stand or walk unaided, so he uses a walking frame or his wheelchair to get around.Life can be frustrating for Daniel, as he needs adult help to do so many things that other children take for granted. Despite the hard work involved with everyday life, and despite the many hours spent doing therapy or in hospital waiting rooms, Daniel is a cheerful little boy with a real zest for life. He loves learning and he is thriving in his mainstream primary school, St Thomas of Canterbury. There is no cure for cerebral palsy, but Daniel has been offered hope in the form of a life changing operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR), carried out at St Louis Children’s Hospital in the USA. SDR followed by intensive therapy could give Daniel far better mobility, and greatly increase his independence, as well as making him generally more comfortable and reducing the need for orthopaedic surgery in the future. A huge £55,000 is needed to take Daniel to St Louis and contribute towards his physiotherapy and rehabilitation after he gets back. Please help us to give Daniel this chance to take his ‘big step’ - See more at: http://www.onebigstepfordaniel.co.uk/#sthash.W1jmGM3I.dpuf
