Story
Hello! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On 22nd April 2007 I will be running the Flora London Marathon. I have never done anything like this before, so it truly is a challenge, but whilst 26.2 miles is a scary distance to run, I am really excited too! What keeps me going is the fact that I am running in support of 2 charities I really believe in and have strong personal connections with.
Why am I running?
I am proud to be running the marathon for the CHARLOTTE WILSON MEMORIAL FUND (CWMF) in memory of my great friend Charlotte who tragically was murdered in December 2000 alongside her fiance. Charlotte had planned to support education and HIV awareness projects on her return to the UK, but didn't have the opportunity to do so herself. The CWMF is supporting impoverished students in Rwanda, funding HIV awareness projects, has helped rehabilitate Rwandan street children and supported vital peacebuilding work. With your support, I hope we will be able to help build a more hopeful future.
I am also honoured to be running the marathon to raise money and awareness of the East Suffolk Branch of the Alzheimer's Society in memory of my Grandmother.
Please give as generously as you can by sponsoring me online. Donations received through this site are exclusively for the Charlotte Wilson Memorial Fund (another justgiving site has been set up to donate to the Alzheimer's Society).
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Charlotte Wilson Memorial Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Please sponsor me.
Thanks for your support.
Amanda
