Story

Russell’s life was filled with music – making music in the garage as a young teenager, playing in his band ‘Merlin’ (aka ‘The Shirley Shadows’) gigging at working mens’ clubs, Butlins and the
infamous Night Out in Birmingham, spinning vinyl with his mates at their flat in Waterloo, encouraging his daughters with their numerous instruments and attending hundreds of gigs and festivals.

The phrase ‘Music Is the Answer’ is a much used and loved expression in our household, which is why we felt it appropriate to support the charity ‘Music For All’ in Russ’ memory.

Throughout Russ’ professional career he was passionate about providing opportunities for all, improving the cultural
capital of the most disadvantaged kids and even as Headteacher ran the ukulele club after school in the early days of Finham Park 2.

Music for All is dedicated to changing lives across the UK by improving access to music making.  They are a
passionate, focused and ambitious UK charity helping disadvantaged music makers experience the joys and far-reaching benefits of making music.

We hope that you can support this fantastic organisation in
Russell’s memory to spread the love and joy of music just a little bit further.
