WE DID IT !!!!!

Thank you everyone so SO much for supporting me on what was in incredible journey - a challenge in the true sense of the word.  For me it was mostly a physical challenge but for others I met on the trip it was an enormous emotional challenge and I am humbled by their strength.  

As a group we raised more than £50,000 (after trip expenses) for our various charities.

Hello everyone

Yes, this little fairy is me nearly half a century ago - a little girl with little girls' dreams of magic wands and three wishes.  Did you, like me, wish for eternal beauty, untold riches and becoming a smouldering diva?  Well, life has a funny way of turning out. It never occurred to me then to add good health to my magic list - good old ordinary health that we all take so much for granted, but is oh so fickle.

But wishing just isn't enough.  I would like to do something.  Something BIG and CHALLENGING and FUN.  So I am joining my oldest school friend Sarah Vant on a gruelling trek across deserts to Petra in Jordan in October 2011, raising funds for Marie Curie.

Now, 50 years on, this fair fat and fifty fairy (and oh not forgetting the other big Fs, fantastically un-FIT!) has set herself a challenge: getting fit and raising £2,000 for cancer care.  I would really appreciate your help in sponsoring me.  Please don't be shy - a donation of £1 is as important to me as a donation of £100, as every penny matters.
