Story
Many people will know that the tragic news of colleagues' deaths has ricocheted through the Older Peoples Medicine department at NuTH in recent years.
I wanted to run the Great North Run to hopefully raise some money for the charity 'Doctors in Distress' but also to continue to promote the message that 'it's ok to not be ok'.
Doctors in distress work with all healthcare professionals to reduce stigma, promote and protect their mental health and to prevent suicide.
My training hasn't gone at all to plan so it won't be quick, it won't be pretty and will probably involve quite a lot of swearing but I'll aim to get to the end having done the best I can - much like most days at work!
