Story
20 years ago, I was 10 years old and like almost everyone else witnessing distressing images on tv of a famine in Somalia. I never thought the world would see similar images again, but the UN had declared new famine areas in Somalia, estimating 750,000 people could die in the coming months.
Back in 1991 I was too young to help but now that we are seeing Somalia gripped by Famine again and in desperate need of help, I can do my bit. I'll be running 5km in the event organised by The Somali Diaspora Community at Regents Park on the 17th September 2011. My aim is to raise £1000 for Somalia Relief and Development Forum (more info here www.srdf.org.uk) and I'd be really grateful if you could help me reach this goal by sponsoring me.
