Story
There are over 44 million people worldwide with dementia, 850,000 of them are sufferers within the UK.
This is predicted to increase to over 75 million by 2030 and over 135 million by 2050.
And the worst part… There are currently no treatments to stop the disease!
Until we stand up to Dementia, until we do everything we can and more to find a cure, the disease will continue to affect more people and consequently more families.
Investment into dementia research is incredibly low which is why charities are doing all they can to contribute and aid the research programme.
On the 24th November, my Nan, Alma Ferguson was rushed to hospital after a terrible accident.
The root cause of this accident was Alzheimer’s.
Thursday 3rd December my Nan sadly passed away.
Despite being a victim of Alzheimer’s disease she made sure it didn't get the better of her, she was and always will be the strongest woman I know.
On the 7th May 2016 I will be taking part in the
world’s largest obstacle race ‘The Rat Race Dirty Weekender’. The race is a gruelling 20 miles with a challenging 200 obstacles along the way.
I am taking part in this event to raise as much money as I can for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
I’m doing this for my Nan, for the victims of Alzheimer’s and for the families who are also affected by it.
Please help me to help them, every penny counts guys!
In loving memory of my Nan, Alma Ferguson.
