Hi Everybody

As most of you know my father passed away last September after suffering from the horrific Motor Neurone Disease for 20 months.  For those of you who don’t know what this is it’s a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones.  This leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, speech, swallowing and breathing.

To help support the Motor Neurone Disease Association I’ve decided to take on one of the toughest challenges I have ever done and will probably ever do, by climbing the three highest peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and ) within 24 hours in May of this year.  I’m very lucky to have the support from 14 work colleagues and my friend Christine to brave this challenge with me.

We have a target of £15,000 and all money raised will go to this charity to help fund research in the cause, treatments and care of those unfortunate enough to get this disease.  I can’t express enough how important this organisation was to my family and especially in making my father comfortable during this time from supplying specialised equipment to the home to Occupational Therapists / Speech Therapists.
