Story
Our family would like to raise funds for the University Hospitals of North Midlands Charity in memory of Dad.
Dad was diagnosed with MDS last August. Sadly this condition transformed to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and chemotherapy was unsuccessful in slowing the progress of his illness.
Dad remained positive. He made plans for the future and enjoyed holidays away with Mum as recently as May. He spent time doing things he loved - pottering in the garden, hanging out with family and friends.
Dad made it clear that he didn’t want a lot of fuss at his funeral. We know that he would much rather donations were made in his memory to a worthwhile cause than spent on flowers. We would like to divide donations equally between the haematology department and ward 106 of the Royal Stoke Hospital where Dad was cared for with great kindness and compassion in his final days.
Dad was such a kind and generous man - a devoted husband, Dad and Grandad. He gave us all so much of his time, love and support and his presence in our lives will be missed forever.
