Story

Hello there! Welcome to my JustGiving page! Thank you for visiting :)

This year in a bid to raise funds and awareness for a great charity and in turn increase my fitness I have decided to to run at least one 10k race a month in 2015.

Personally this is quite a challenge for me as I am not a keen outdoor runner. However, by raising for a cause very close to my heart I am extremely motivated to successfully complete all 12 races!

In 2005 my father unexpectedly suffered a stroke whilst in the middle of playing a game of golf. I was only 15 at the time and when my mother told me what had happened I didn't really understand what a stroke was and I was shocked at the detrimental effects it inflicts on its victims. The effects can vary, sadly my Dad's right side was paralysed and to this day I can never begin to imagine how difficult and frustrating it has been for him on his road to recovery. In the last 10 years my dad has been the greatest inspiration to me, he is the best example of how determination can overcome the greatest of obstacles. I am so proud of him and he will forever be my hero for his unfaltering display of strength that he has continued to demonstrate to myself as well as friends and family since suffering the stroke.

Every year there are approximately 152,000 strokes in the UK. That's one stroke every three and a half minutes. If you would like to find out more about the effects and causes of stroke and what the Stroke Association does, visit their website at

Thank you for taking the time to view my page, I would greatly appreciate any donation! Wish me luck!
