Story
We are running the Garioch 10k in Inverurie again this year to raise money for Shared Parenting Scotland (formerly known as Families Need Fathers).
Shared Parenting Scotland is the leading UK charity supporting dads, mums and grandparents to have personal contact and meaningful relationships with their children following parental separation. SPS has an online forum and over 50 branches across the UK which meet once per month to provide face to face support for parents who are being unfairly treated by their ex partner and/or the legal system.
SPS realises that parental separation should not mean a child loses a loving and caring relationship with one of their parents. Instead, it seeks to obtain, the best possible blend of both parents in the lives of children; enough for the children to realise that both parents are fully involved in their lives. Legally, parents should be of equal status.
The charity is fighting for the best interests of all involved, to try and encourage more collaborative, shared parenting, in the UK. They believe that children have a right to a continuing loving relationship with both parents; that the children need to be protected from the harm of losing contact with one parent; both parents should be treated equally and shared parenting should be encouraged; and litigation is not the preferred route for resolving post separation children's matters.
Support us in supporting the next generation! Let our children grow up happy and content, regardless of their family situation.
Thank you for your support
