In Tribute to Alison Hughes

 

During her life and after losing her on the 6 September 2009, Alison has continued to be a huge inspiration to us all.Even through her toughest times she continued to be a Selfless, Unique and Exceptional individual who brought us all a shining example of how to live life to the full. Her spirit continues on and in tribute to Alison many events have been held through 2010 and 2011 and many are being organised in the future to keep her strength and good work alive.

 

We have been fundraising for Cancer Research UK and have so far produced fantastic results due to everyone’s help, donations and support.It’s with this in mind that we are inspired to continue this work and have decided to officially introduce our own local fund for Cancer Research UK

 

‘The Alison Hughes Fund’

 

This move recognises us as an Official Committee within Cancer Research UK and is only given to groups that have displayed commitment, dedication and support to the cause.We are now looking for any fundraisers that would like to contribute to the fund.

 

If you or your friends have any fundraising ideas and would like to help Cancer Research UK via ‘The Alison Hughes Fund’ we would be more than happy to support you in anyway we can.We have a Facebook Page with over 1100 friends at present and any events contributing to the fund can be advertised through that page.

 

Please help to promote and support this fund and all your donations and sponsorships will make their way to Cancer Research UK and continue to help in their groundbreaking work.Cancer Research UK funds over 4,500 scientists, doctors and nurses based throughout the UK. They are carrying out world-class research into all aspects of Cancer, from understanding the causes and biology of the disease through to developing better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it.The money we raise will go directly to help the pioneering work of Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating Cancer through research.All funds raised locally are spent in this area, North West England.
