Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Sunnyside Community Playgroup is a brilliant pre-school that my son attends and absolutely loves. They rely on charity contributions to stay open and to continue to offer the children all the activities that they love doing.

I am the Secretary of the pre-school committee and really want to raise some money for them.

However, I'm also doing this for selfish reasons and am using this as a personal goal. 3 years ago, when my son was 3 months old, I lost sensation from the chest down. An MRI highlighted lesions on my brain and spine. I was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis and told that this was my first attack of Multiple Sclerosis. It took over 2 years for the symptoms to stabilise but I still experience lack of sensation in my hands and feet and debilitating fatigue (amongst other things!). I'm determined to continue to improve and keep pushing myself through good diet and what little exercise I can do. I get exhausted very easily and if this 5k run is on a random day of fatigue then it will be very interesting!

My siblings both run marathons and I think this will be my equivalent so please contribute anything that you can to this worthy cause (and to spur me on!).

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you so much in advance.
