Story
In October a friend of ours Colin, suffered a heart attack after completing Walsall parkrun. Due to the quick thinking of fellow runners, volunteers and paramedics Colin’s heart was successfully restarted twice.
Colin was an expert runner completing over 100 marathons. Every weekend he would run a half marathon or 2 not to mention regular PT sessions and at least 4 gym classes a day if not more.
Colin received excellent care at new cross hospital in Wolverhampton. He received a triple heart bypass and is glad to be attending cardiac rehabilitation and has started walking at his parkrun .
Without the British heart Foundation Colin wouldn't have received the up to date treatment he did get to help him back to fitness! So Colin we are running this half for you xx
Lots of people suffer from heart conditions, myself included. Having suffered ventricular ectopic beats for over 11 years now they are thought to be harmless extra beats but can be very scary. I’ve suffered a recent exacerbation of this condition in recent months following running and sort another check up. 24hour monitoring of my heart and a CT of my heart which I am waiting for.
Thanks for all your support 😍
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
