Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November 2011, I cycled 400 km through the Rift Valley in Kenya as part of the WOMEN V CANCER KENYA CHALLENGE and managed to raise a staggering £10,150!
It was the hardest, physically and emotionally draining thing I have ever attempted in my life, but, equally was also the most uplifting and inspiring thing I have ever been involved in.
After a lot of thought and careful deliberation, I am back on the bike again!
On October the 3rd 2014, I will set off for Cuba to cycle through the cities and rural heartlands of Cuba as part of the WOMEN V CANCER CUBA CHALLENGE.
The three great charities I’m raising funds for are:
Breast Cancer Care
Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust
Ovarian Cancer Action
My first challenge is to raise a minimum of £2,900 (my target being £3,500). I would really appreciate your help and support in achieving this and would ask that you make a small donation to this great cause.
Those that know me will tell you I am not the fittest, so for me personally the biggest challenge will be getting out on my bike (again) and getting fit (again), to enable me to achieve the final challenge …..the 400 km/250 mile ride.
My wonderful mum-in-law was 38 when she beat breast cancer and sadly lost her battle to ovarian cancer in January 2010 at the age of 63. For her I want to carry on the support she unreservedly gave to these charities.
In April 2013, I lost my lovely Dad to prostate cancer. This journey means even more to me as I want to do this in his memory and do my bit to beat this bloody horrendous disease that affects both men and women.
Thank you so much in anticipation of your donation – every little will help!
