Story
Hi everyone!
On the 19th June 2011 I have decided to take part in the Jane Tomlinson Run for All 10K in Leeds, with two very good friends. I am raising money for the Alzheimer's society as this is an important charity for myself and my family.
1 in 3 people over 65 will die with dementia. It is not a natural part of ageing, it is a debilitating illness which robs people of their lives. Millions of families across the UK are affected by dementia. The Alzheimer's society provide local services across England, including day care and home care for people living with dementia, as well as support for families and friends of those suffering from the illness. They also spend around £2 million a year on research into the causes of dementia to help make a better life for sufferers, and to continue the search for a cure.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. It would mean a lot if you could help me by making a donation to support this fantastic cause. As you can imagine "running" and "Alison" are not normally in the same sentence (...ever!), but I am trying to walk/run about 4km three times a week to get in some sort of shape to complete this challenge so I would be really grateful for any suport you can offer.
