Bolton dementia support is a local charity which is run by professionally trained staff, trained volunteers and present and former carers who all understand how dementia affects the person concerned and the impact this disease has on the rest of the family. They offer help to everyone but have very little funding so every penny really does help.

The Memory cafés offer the opportunity for people living with dementia and their families to meet others in a similar situation, find out how and where to get help and share experience and strategies. Knowing that others really understand makes a difference and this can grow into a support network that exists outside the café. Each café provides a setting where people living with dementia feel welcomed and valued. If we could raise £200 this would cover the cost of running a few of the Memory Cafés as they have to fund room hire and entertainment.
