We have set up this page for anyone wishing to make a donation to Friends of PICU in memory of Ben.

Ben was born with congenital heart disease and had many surgeries and stays on PICU in his twelve years. In the new year, Ben was admitted to PICU with an extremely serious infection and a failing heart. He fought very hard and the amazing staff did all they could to help him. Sadly, after three weeks he lost his life despite being so brave and passed away peacefully in our arms on 24th January. We miss him every second of every day.

Friends of PICU is a registered charity who supports children and their families on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit Southampton Children’s Hospital at the University Hospital Southampton. The doctors and nurses on PICU cared for Ben many times throughout his life and they helped us tremendously at the end. They are all remarkably skilled, caring, amazing people and this charity is immensely important, donating various equipment and services to provide potential lifesaving care for critically ill children.
