Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On April 22nd our world was turned upside down when Owen died.

This ride is being done by Owens dad, Paul; sister, Emma; and aunt and uncle Alison & Ian. We want to raise money for the Owen Carey memorial fund to support the Anaphylaxis Campaign to work with young people with severe allergies. Young people such as Owen are particularly vulnerable to suffering from a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). This can be fatal, as it was in Owens case. The loss of someone so young, and so full of promise, is devastating. We don't want anyone else to go through such a loss.

We will be riding two vintage tandems. One from the 1930's and one from the 1940's. These are heavy bikes. 25 miles might not seem too far to some people but please realise that Emma hasn't been on a bicycle for years and Alison has managed a grand total of 3 short bikes rides in the past 12 months, so the challenge is not to be underestimated!!!

As for the boys team - Paul hasn't ridden the tandems since he restored them in the late 70's! Thank goodness Ian is an elite athlete!!!!

So please be generous is you can. We really do appreciate the support you give.
