Story
In October last year we were left devastated by the sudden death of my Dad. He was only 76 and was fit and active. He never smoked, hardly drank and was a healthy weight. He walked miles every day.
He died suddenly from a heart attack and what turned out to be undiagnosed severe triple vessel coronary artery disease. He never had any symptoms.
We were incredibly close and the shock and grief have been really hard to deal with. I wanted to do something in his memory and also to raise money to support a charity working hard to reduce the number of people dying from heart disease.
I will be running the marathon in October this year which will be almost a year since losing Dad. I miss him every day but running helps deal with that loss as well as knowing I am in a small way helping others.
I am grateful for any donation you are able to make. Thank you.
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
