Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2009 after some serious nagging from my lovely cousin Angela (thats us shopping last summer) who had had breast cancer in 2008, I went for my very first mammogram and was subsequently diagnosed with the disease myself. Although the treatment I received from Bolton Breast Unit was absolutely fabulous, I would really rather that no one else ever had to go through it for themselves and thats why I am hoping to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer by taking part in the Manchester 10k on 15 May. As their website says, Breakthrough supports programmes of cutting edge biological research that ultimately aim to eradicate breast cancer.
Another reason for taking part this year is to pay tribute to my cousin Mandy, who sadly died from Breast Cancer earlier this year at the age of 44.
Not being a natural athlete, the run will be a challenge but knowing that I am raising money for a charity that is so important to me will, I have no doubt, spur me on. Thanks for your support.
