Tackling the hills of Sheffield for my first ever half marathon! 🏃
This year I will be taking on the Sheffield Half Marathon (22km!!) - on Sunday 27th March - in support of Genetic Disease Research at the University of Sheffield.
I'm not a runner (at all) but I'm working on improving my pace and endurance, as well as trying to find the 'enjoyment' of running!
Why am I doing this? My professional role involves working with academics across the whole of the University and writing about the direct impact that their research has had on the world. Through meeting these academics over the past 6 months and learning more about their work, I now understand how crucial research is for the development of knowledge across different fields.
However, research cannot be carried out without funding.
In the UK alone, 1 in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder. The research at the University of Sheffield will change the lives of families who are desperately seeking a treatment for their loved-one. By donating today you will give hope to families living with the ongoing challenges of a genetic disease.
Any donations are appreciated to help reach my fundraising goal!
A huge thank you in advance! :)
