Story
I dont have a story as such.
I originally decided to run the Manchester 10k as a personal goal and to give myself something to work towards and achieve.
I love projects and training to build fitness and stamina is a mini project and the end goal/ deliverable is a medal at the finish line.
On reflection, i thought that prehaps i could run and also raise money for a deserving cause in the process and The Christie Hospital came straight to mind.
My only direct Aunty, my mums sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer almost 15-18 years ago and the hospital have treated and supported her throughout.
They were there when it took away the feeling in her left arm, they were there when it went into remission and they are here again now that it has come back with a venegance and is aggressively growing in her body.
They have also been there for my Nana, who was recently diagnosed with Bone Cancer and is undergoing treatment for it.
Cancer is a terrible illness and it affects everyone in some way or form and for all that they are able to do The Christie hospital is amazing and i am ever thankful for the years i have had with my aunty after initial diagnoise.
So i would like to raise as much as i can, to give to this hospital for them to give someone else more time with their loved ones.
