Story
In 2010, my Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 52. I had no idea what Parkinson's was, why it affected certain people or how it affect them or their families. To find out more I decided to volunteer with a local Parkinson's UK group, it was at this group I met other Parkinson's sufferer's and their families. It was here I learnt that there are various types of Parkinson's, not everyone who is diagnosed with Parkinson's is elderly and many of the individuals with Parkinson's will not let it defeat them living a "normal" life.
My Dad is a great example of this determination as Parkinson's has affected his movement, his speech, and sometimes his general mood BUT he still continues to work full time, fix bits and bobs around the house and put's his hand to a bit of gardening. We have always been there to support him but often he won't accept it as he wants to continue to be as independant as long as possible. My Dad is an inspiration to me and my family.
So please support me in anyway possible to raise awareness of Parkinson's, raise funds for the Fakenham support group and research into Parkinson's disease. I will be carrying out this skydive, hopefully on the 9th June 2013.
