Story
On March the 22nd i will be part of a group of Leeds University students taking on the challenge of heading into the countryside to hike the three highest peaks in yorkshire in less than 12 hours.
Every year, roughly one in every thousand people with epilepsy will die suddenly with no obvious cause, this is called Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy or SUDEP. SUDEP action provide help and support for those effected by this devastating occurence. They support families and raise awareness, their work is vital in helping those already affected and striving to prevent cases happening in the future.
SUDEP action offer support and bereavement counselling when someone has died, sponsor research into individual deaths but also further research into causes of SUDEP, educating people on epilepsy/ SUDEP and capturing data from across the UK through the Epilepsy Deaths Register and therefore helping to increase understanding.
Any money towards helping me reach my goal for this fantastic charity will be very much appreciated, we also aim to fundraise but any donations will help us achieve our target!
